Trust wins silver award from Kent and Medway Healthy Workplace Programme
A programme that supports businesses across the county to meet the health needs of their workplace has recognised Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust (MTW) with a silver award.
The Kent and Medway Healthy Workplace Programme supports organisations of all sizes and sectors across the county to meet the health needs of their workplace. This is achieved by assessing policies and training in place to support staff, ensuring workplaces are supportive of health and wellbeing, giving line managers the help that they need to support their teams and encouraging staff to engage in healthy activities both in and outside of work.
Since joining the programme last September, MTW had already identified 10 pledges, worked towards meeting the requirements for each and provided evidence in order to achieve the bronze award.
The silver award saw the Trust committing to a further 15 pledges, including having information and support available on a range of topics, maintaining clear channels of communications, and ensuring that education and training opportunities are available to staff.
Christian Lippiatt, Head of Wellbeing, said “We’re passionate about how we all support each other’s health and wellbeing in order to feel and be our best selves. We all know the impact that poor wellbeing can have on your home and work life which is why it is a key priority for us at the Trust. It takes a whole organisational approach to make MTW a healthy workplace and I’m very proud of the health and wellbeing team and all the teams and individuals who have contributed to achieving this award, and are working towards the gold award next!”
