Rainbow Badge survey

We are delighted to share the news that we have been accepted onto the NHS Rainbow Badge Programme – phase 2.

After the success of the NHS Rainbow Badge phase 1 NHS England commissioned a collaboration with the LGBT Foundation, Stonewall, the LGBT Consortium, the Brighton & Hove Switchboard and GLADD to develop and deliver a second pilot of Phase 2 which MTW is part of!

Phase 2 is essentially a benchmarking process which will assess NHS organisations for their inclusivity of the LGBT+ community with regards to patients, service users and staff. The assessment process runs from February to June and following assessment, the Trust will receive a graded award reflecting their current LGBT+ inclusion work (Foundation, Bronze, Silver and Gold), a comprehensive feedback report and action plan to help improve and become more inclusive.

We are very excited to be undergoing this assessment and whilst the target is to achieve the best possible grading for the Trust, the detail from the action plan and feedback this process provides will establish a clear blue print upon which we can build and ensure the Trust offers inclusivity for our LGBT+ communities.

A big part of this assessment is the feedback and responses that we get from our Patient Survey! These surveys are not just to be completed by those within the LGBT+ community but are to be completed by all regardless of their gender, gender identity or sexuality. A large part of the surveys is to capture general awareness and inclusion of the LGBT+ population within our Trust, not just personal experiences of those within the LGBT+ community. You can complete the survey here or by scanning the QR code here.
