Clinical Support Worker Open Day – 21st January 2023

Date: 21st January 2023

Time: 9:00am Arrival (Please ensure that you are able to attend the whole day. The day will finish at 3pm.)

Location: Academic Centre Maidstone Hospital, Hermitage Lane ME169 QQ

We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting a recruitment event for individuals who would like to join our friendly nursing teams as a Healthcare Support Worker. After we have showcased what MTW has to offer, we will invite attendees to join our assessment centre which will provide the opportunity to walk away with a job offer on the day.

No qualifications or experience in the healthcare sector? No problem. We will fully support you in your training and development. For us, it is more important that you have a caring and compassionate nature, the desire to help others and the drive to develop a rewarding career that you will be proud of. You will be joining a supportive, inclusive and diverse team who all reflect our Trust’s core values of PRIDE. Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust support flexible working patterns and many staff benefits to ensure that all staff have an excellent work-life balance.

We are looking for individuals who are looking to start out in their healthcare career, return to work after a break or change careers from another sector. Come along and talk to our experienced nursing team who will help you kick-start your career in healthcare.

Please note this recruitment event will not be recruiting Healthcare Support Workers for midwifery services.

Please arrive at 9am to take full advantage of the day. The day will consist of an informative presentation, the opportunity to find out about our specialities and to discuss career pathways with our experienced team. You will then be invited to proceed to our selection process including:

  • A group discussion
  • A basic literacy and numeracy assessment
  • A practical exercise of learning and demonstrating a basic skill

Successful completion of the above assessments could mean that you leave the day with a job offer!

Apprenticeship Opportunity

This role can also be offered as an apprenticeship. This will be achieved through successful completion of the Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship, which includes the Care Certificate and functional skills (English and Maths Level 1). You will have direct supervision and support from Registered Nurses/Midwives and other members of the multidisciplinary team. If you are interested in applying for the apprenticeship route, please make this clear in your supporting statement so that we are able to shortlist your application accordingly.
